Lady Cat Crimson.

I "met" LCC many, many years ago on a pagan forum, known by the members as UKP, I met her once too, five years ago when we went to Scarborough for the UKP get together.  We shared a room and she was lovely, really lovely.  Online, LCC can seem quite scary - her command of the written word is formidable and she is very much a no nonense and very practical pagan - to use her terminology, not much patience for "numpeties".   Yet in "real life" she was very much a soft and gentle person.  One of her jobs was as a warden for elderly in sheltered accommodation.  Indeed she worked very hard and had very little time off, she said because cover for the shelted housing was difficult - I think though, she didn't really like passing over care of her residents to anyone else.

Today, a mutal friend called to let me know that Cat died on 10th August in intensive care.  She'd been in and out of hospital, I knew she'd been ill, I didn't realise it was so serious.  Cat was a very private lady, and she would bat you away with assurances she was fine.  Apparently, she had had an operation and developed a post operative infection, of which her body was incapable of fighting after the months and months of illness.   I am stunned.  Cat wasn't a great deal older than I am, early 40's?  I cannot believe that I'll never read her witty and engaging posts again.  Never smile and giggle at her, very impressive, ranting abilities.  How can she be gone?  It is too soon, she is too young.

She is with her ancestors now - I hope having a jolly good knees up.  Gawds, I will miss her though.

Love you, missus - wish I'd said it more.

Thinking of you and her family, Joxy. Sometimes, life just is unfair - I agree.

She is very much on my mind this evening.

Incense and candles burning, and just remembering. Sigh.
