Midwinter 2009.

Inspite of the illness that has dogged the household recently, the winter solstice was simply lovely.
Waking up to a faint dusting of snow set the scene and brought about a childish glee :-)  C's mum had called as well to say that her boss had told her to stay home; the roads were trecherous, some places were cut off completely.  I suspect ice rather than snow as there wasn't even enough to form a snow ball.

A joyful day with a combination of decorating the tree, baking buscuits and decorating some for the tree, creating a delicious, yet simply Yule feast of vegetable chilli and homemade chiabatta bread.  The evening meal eaten by candle light and then later I found The Muppets Christmas Carol on surf the channel and settled down with Rye to watch that.  Later still, I finished the painting for Shell, I am pretty pleased with it.  I could of course tinker more alas time is running out.

I hope everyone had a wonderful midwinter celebration :-)

Oohhh Joxy I want to see your pictures in full size! How do I do that?

Glad you had a lovely day (and thanks for the message, it really touched us). xxx

Thanks Debs, not feeling to bad really, just sniffily with the cold, occasionally a bit hot, otherwise ok.

Mmmm, I don't think you can see them individually Sarah, but I've added them to facebook now as individuals photos so you can see them there :-)

Sounds like you had a very peaceful and gentle Solstice celebration Joxy - enjoy the rest of Yuletide.
I love the look of your painting - what a great talent.
Blessings to you and Rye
