Phew, hot.

It has been sweltering today.
Very happy indeed that I bought the pop up gazebos from Halfords, yesterday.  It meant while C and J napped, Rye was able to play in the garden in the shade, and out of the hottest part of the day.

Had a lovely tea too; I boiled up some wholewheat pasta and blitzed in the processor, tomatoes, an orange (peeled), 2 cloves of garlic and a handful of fresh parsley; and I was going to maek a side salad to go with, when I decided to just mix it all together; the salad contained, salad leaves, cucumber, red pepper, celery, grated carrot and beetroot, and I also added some feta cheese too.  It was blumming lovely.  Rye ate all his, (minus the cheese, he decided he wasn't that keen on feta), mindee liked the pasta but didn't seem keen on the salad, it too her a good ten or twenty minutes to actually swallow a mouthful - mind she does this all the time, I've never known a child mastitate their food like she does!

Anyway, after tea, I took Rye down to the beach, to try out his new (preloved) wetsuit, and I even popped on my cosie, and together we went into the sea.  Took a little coaxing to get him to come in to my depth (the sea at the sunny sands graduates out very, very slowly.  I had wanted to have a wee swim, but he was getting a little stressy and shouting, "No, mummy, don't go any further".  Nevermind, maybe next time.
This was Monday, Rye spotted some, er paragliders? in the sky.  They jump from the hill behind the houses and glide through the sky held up merely by a parachute - nutters!  Rye, made me laugh, though, "Oooh look mummy, big balloons!"  Bless him.
After telling him they were parachutes, he still insisted they were balloons.
I was instructed to take photos.  The gliders actually looked a lot closer and there were 3, but  LCD screen in the sunlight and I couldn't  see, so I snapped and hoped for the best.... and this was the best one I got, lol.
And here we are down at the beach.  We've just come out of the sea and Rye is digging a hole and exclaiming at the water he is finding as he digs down deeper.

Running back down to the water for another jump over the waves.

Above the sunny sands on the way to get a taxi home.  The statue is suppose to be the Folkestone mermaid... except she doesn't have a fin for a tail, still its a nice statue, and I believe a folkestone resident sat for it too.

A really pleasant end to a nice day, shame I managed to twist my knee again getting out of the taxi and now can't walk very well.  Pah.  Still with any luck it will be fine in the morning.

I hope your knee is better soon, you never realise how much you use your knees till one of them starts hurting!!

Looks like you had a lovely day at the beach and I was interested to see those paragliders too as we get a lot of them come over the caravan where we are. Except, how the dickens to they get up into the sky in Lincolnshire? There are no hills where we are, unless they're jumping off the Boston Stump?? We all stand like idiots and wave at them, but to date they haven't waved back.

Yes, it was hot yesterday wasn't it, but it's raining today, so at least I don't have to lug watering cans around! xxxxxxx

Gosh it is baking isn't it? Wish we were by the sea! I hope you've had some rain today to cool everything down a bit, and that your poor knee is improving some.

Aye, lots of rain today. You'd never have believed it was so hot yesterday, it's done nothing but rain all day. Still the garden needed it.

And yes, thankfully the knee is improving, in part because I bit the bullet and have bought a walking stick, which has helped immensely. It tends to be ten minutes or so after getting up that it hurts alot and then once I'm moving around its fine, tender but not so painful I can't put my weight on it. What is particularly annoying, it's normally my left knee that gives me gip, and it's my right one I've twisted (or something).

And you know hun, you're always welcome to come down for a long weekend :-)
