Pizza Dough

After Breakfast this morning we also made pizza dough, shaped it and par baked the bases. These are now in the freezer for quick meals when I don't feel like lots of cooking. We held one back for lunch. Mmm, lovely. The dough I use is very simple too:

500g of strong white flour
500g of plain white flour
1 1/4 pints of warm water
2 and a bit tablespoosn of dried active yeast (not the breadmaking stuff the other)
1 tablespoon of honey or equivilent of sugar (I've used sugar as a friend is vegan now)
1 tsp of salt

I just bung the flours in the cake mixer with the dough hook, reconstitute the dried yeast (I use allinson as its the best I've found) in the warm water and sugar. Turn on the machine and slowly add the yeasty water. Sometimes all the water is needed sometimes its not. I leave the machine to "knead" the dough for 5 minutes or so and then I just cover and leave to raise. Knock back, knead a bit by hand and then shape into pizza bases and prebake on 200 degrees celcius for five minutes then freeze. (I spritz each base with a little oil prior to baking)

I like my bases thin and I probably make them about 9 inches across - this receipe will make about 9.

I somtimes add a splotch of olive oil and reduce the water.
That is a basic bread receipe so it can be played with to heart's content.

hmmmm, and it turns out well?! You obviously have a lot more cooking genes than I do ;-)

BTW your kitchen looks lovely - great piccies, and Rye looks like a little cutey pie.

Yeah the dough is lovely and soft (I'm not keen on crispy myself) It is a very easy bread to make; and actually that receipe makes a lovely loaf too; although Inormal subtitute the strong white with a strong brown.
