1 December 2017.

Oops, December has snuck up on me!
Currently, I am having a big shift around and clutter sort...and not quite finished, plus busy preparing for a few Christmas Markets for BytheCrookofmyHook,  so no Yule tree to decorate, nor have I yet sat down to sort out our Yule countdown activities.

So, sorry, no fun Yuletide activity to report today...
I can leave you with a couple of photos, yarn club and other yarn I bought that I will turn into amazing things soon:

And a few photos I took of the climate change shawl, around the mannequin - which should have arrived at the Gallery today...but oh.my.god. the ends!

I remember now why I decided to leave the ends as a part of the shawl, though it does look more polished with them sewn in.  TWO days I've been sewing them in.   Well when I say days, I do mean evenings, after I've finished doing other things that need doing too...I really ought to stop leaving everything to the very last minute.  I'm 42 though..not sure that's really gonna ever change!

Anyway - better go.. more ends to sew in (seriously the "wrong" side looked furry there was so many!) the shawl absolutely must be posted tomorrow!

From "EEEEK" to "Ahhhhhh"

The housework got a little on top of me last week....
Add various deliveries, for which I'd not yet cleared space for....... and it was chaos.
Minded child would be dropped off and we'd go out.  The thought of THAT was enough to send me scuttling to various friend's houses, the park, beach.. coupled with a small fortune spent at the garage buying picnic foods!

This weekend was the perfect opportunity to don the gloves, apron and wield the steam cleaner, while Rye is at his dad's.  First the living room, there was an astonishing amount of recycling; plastic, boxes, etc.  It is the main problem of shopping online, there is always loads of packing materials to get rid of!

One of my recent purchases, (bought locally not online), was a Henry vacuum cleaner.  I am pleased.  While sweeping is ok, it never gets completely rid of the dirt, and when I steam clean the floors I end up just pushing dirt around, and pale laminate shows dirt!   It took hours, and hours, but eventually I discovered there is lounge under all the STUFF and rubbish.  Look!

Ahhh much better, I now feel much more relaxed when plonked on the sofa!  Bloody house elves though, not a one in sight!  Damn quick to hide stuff from me, not so quick to help tidy up.  Humph!

The Kitchen I tackled today.  Initially, I didn't think it would take me that long, there wasn't really that much washing up, and once stuff was put away and any rubbish thrown......... hahahaha.  Yeah right, all day!  Ok, there was a great deal of delaying tactics... oooh must write a list of things I need to do tomorrow.   Ooh, I need to just check my emails.  Ooh, I'll just put some laundry on.... Ooh I'll just hang the laundry out.  Ooh I'll just sit down on the bench..just to check it's ok after the winter.  Oooh, I'll just check the weather for the rest of the week..... and on and on.  I am after all the Goddess of Procrastination, as previously mentioned!
The end result, if it was a tortuous process, is worth it and I am looking forward to waking up in the morning with a skip in my step knowing the Lounge and Kitchen of Doom are no longer waiting for me!

Yes, that will do very nicely.

Now, just gotta try and keep the house like that.

January Blues.

Tis the season, eh.

I'm not depressed or even deeply unhappy - my mojo has just gone for a long walk - and clearly with far less painful knees than I am suffering with at the moment.  I'm simply unmotivated, lethargic and a headful of ideas and aims and no will to implement.

Rather than depressing its rather vexing.  I am also the Goddess of Procrastination.  Oh, yes I am!  I had a plan to do a simple healthy detox this month; eating lots of homemade healthy soups, fresh fruit and veggies and drinking lots more water.  Is it happening?  Nope, why, because I've got it into my head I need to get myself a microwave first.. and then I also got it into my head that my 6.5lt slow cooker is too big and I need a 1.5lt one.  Hmmm.  Microwave, yes handy, slow cooker to be honest, my large one has two compartments, so I can actually cook a small portion that would probably last a day or two, so no I don't need the 1.5lt one.

Procrastinator!

It is also vexing because oh my gawd, my knees hurt.  Ever twisted your ankle.. that excruciating pain of trying to put your weight on the injured ankle.. my knees are very reminiscent of that - and vexing because a couple of weeks I would undoubtedly loose enough to improve the pain really quite dramatically - but guess what....

Procrastinator!

I did ask the doctor if there was any pain relief I could take so I would feel more inclined to walk and just generally be more active; but he said painkillers have rather serious side effects and rather encouraged me not to over do activity and to loose weight.

Yes, but you see, Dr, I am the Goddess of Procrastination.

Loose weight, sounds so simple; but I've been trying to do this for the past 30 years (I'm 36, my mother had me on diets from a young age), and I'm heavier than I've ever been.  Do you know I eye up those mobility scooters with serious wantsies.  A bloody mobility scooter.

Hmm actually a microwave would be very handy.   PROCRASTINATOR!

Yes, yes, but it would, so I shall go and now cancel the 1.5litre slow cooker order and instead order a microwave.

Hey and in the morning, I will be walking Rye to nursery and then picking him up again at lunch time.  I expect to be crawling up the stairs in agony by the evening - but hey that's one of the downsides of being the Goddess of Procrastination.
